Virgin Martyr · Patron of Girls
Agnes was a Roman girl of thirteen who refused to marry the son of a prefect, having consecrated her virginity to Christ. She was martyred around 304 AD. Her name means "pure" in Latin, forever linking her to the Agnus Dei.

Ordinary Time
We are in the Second Week of Ordinary Time — the Church wears green.
The long, green stretch between the great seasons — the everyday of faith, where most of the Christian life is actually lived. Today, though, the Church sets that aside and wears red — for the memorial of Agnes of Rome Virgin.
