O glorious St. Michael, Prince of the heavenly armies, who is always poised to provide aid to God's people; you who battled the dragon, the ancient serpent, casting him out of the heavenly realm, and now bravely protect the Church of God so that the forces of hell may not triumph over her. I sincerely implore your assistance in the painful and perilous struggle I face against this fearsome enemy. Stand beside me, O mighty Prince, that I may fight with courage and utterly defeat that proud spirit, whom you have gloriously vanquished by Divine Power, and whom our strong King, Jesus Christ, has completely subdued in our human nature. May I, having conquered the foe of my salvation, join you and the holy angels in glorifying God's mercy, who denied grace to the rebellious angels after their fall but has offered repentance and forgiveness to mankind.
