A Child's Prayer

O Almighty God, who has granted me my parents, reflecting Your authority, love, and tender care; You have instructed me to love, respect, and obey them in all matters. I ask for the grace to follow this command with joy and sincerity. Help me to cherish them deeply, to honor them honestly, to obey their directions readily, to respond to their desires, to seek their joy in all I do, and to accept their corrections with patience and humility. Protect me, O God, from pride, rebellion, and disobedience, from strong emotions and obstinacy, from laziness and negligence. Grant me diligence in my responsibilities and studies, and patience during challenges; so that by living this way, I may prove to be Your child, You who are our Father in Heaven.Amen.
