A Fireman's Prayer

When duty calls, O God, grant me the fortitude I need, as flames rage in their fury; allow me the chance to safeguard a life, no matter how young or old it may be. Assist me in cradling a small child, before the precious moment slips away, or rescue an elder from the terror that awaits them. Grant me the vigilance to hear the faintest cry and the skill to extinguish the flames swiftly and effectively. I strive to fulfill my mission and to offer my utmost dedication in service, to watch over every neighbor and secure their treasures. And if my destiny leads me to sacrifice my own life, shield my children and my wife under your blessings of protection.
