A Lenten Prayer Called The Passion

Beloved Lord Jesus, through Your Passion and glorious Resurrection, you gifted life to all humanity. Yet, the splendor of the Resurrection came only following the trials of Your suffering. You willingly surrendered Your life, giving everything for our sake. Your body was shattered and nailed to the Cross, your garments were claimed by soldiers, your precious blood flowed away gradually, and Your Mother was entrusted to the care of the disciple whom You loved. Suspended upon the Cross, stripped of every earthly possession and any support from others, You called out to Your Father, declaring that Your time was complete. You fulfilled the mission bestowed upon You, and graciously entrusted unto Him the last breaths of Your life, as a perfect offering. Lord, guide me in embracing all trials, following the path you have set. May I unite my death with Yours and my frailties with Your abandonment. Embrace me with Your boundless love, a love unbounded and unconditional, and allow me to present myself to the Father alongside You, that I may rise with You to everlasting life.
