A Prayer After Mass

O sweetest Lord Jesus Christ, I ask You earnestly, please reach the very depths of my soul with the joyful and healing arrow of Your love, infused with sincere, peaceful, holy, and apostolic charity. Let my entire being constantly yearn and sigh for nothing but You, desiring only Your presence. May my spirit long for Your courts and always wish to depart this life to be with You. Grant that my soul may crave for You, the bread of angels, the comforting sustenance of all holy souls, our daily and most delightful bread, our essential bread, in which every joy is found. Let my heart forever crave You, whom the angels gaze upon with love; let it be nourished by You; and may the deepest parts of my being be filled with the sweetness that comes from tasting You. May my soul remain in thirst for You, the source of life, the fountain of wisdom and knowledge, the radiant light of eternity, the river of true bliss, the treasures of God’s house. May I think of You at all times; may I continually seek You and find You; may I pursue You and reach You; may Your holy name dwell in my heart and upon my lips, and may all my actions be done for Your honor and glory. Patient, humble, loving, and joyful, always ready and cheerful in Your service, may I endure, by Your grace, to the end. Be my sole and eternal hope; be my entire trust; be my riches, my joy, my delight, my comfort, my rest, and my everlasting peace. Be to me a delightful taste, a lovely fragrance, a soothing sweetness. Be my nourishment and rejuvenation; my sanctuary and assistance; my wisdom; my share, my own possession, and my treasure. In You, O Lord, may my thoughts and my heart remain steadfast, firmly rooted forever.
