A Prayer Before Mass (Friday)

mass
The prayer

We beseech You, O Lord, Holy Father, for the souls of the faithful who have departed: may this great Sacrament of Your love bring them health and salvation, joy and refreshment. O Lord, my God, grant them today a rich and abundant feast of Yourself, the living Bread, who descended from heaven and gives life to the world; even of Your holy and blessed Flesh, the Lamb without blemish, who takes away the sins of the world; that Flesh, taken from the Blessed Virgin Mary and conceived by the Holy Spirit; and from that Fountain of mercy which flowed from Your most sacred Side, pierced by the soldier's lance; that they may be nourished and satisfied, refreshed and comforted, and may rejoice in Your praise and glory. I ask Your loving mercy, O Lord, that upon the bread and wine to be offered to You may descend the fullness of Your blessing and the fulfillment of Your Divinity. May the invisible and incomprehensible Majesty of Your Holy Spirit descend as it once did upon the sacrifices of our ancestors, transforming these offerings into Your Body and Blood; and may this sacrifice be pleasing to You, through Him who offered Himself as a sacrifice to You, O Father, our Lord Jesus Christ, Your only Son.Amen.
