A Prayer For After The Holy Mass

O Lord, all-powerful and everlasting Father, I offer my gratitude to You. Though I am a sinner and unworthy servant, it is solely through the abundance of Your mercy that I have received the precious Body and Blood of Your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ. I beseech that this holy communion may not lead to my condemnation, but rather grant me forgiveness and salvation. May it serve as a helmet of faith and a shield of generous intent. Purify me from sinful ways and extinguish my wicked desires. Fill me with charity and patience, humility and obedience, and strengthen my resolve to do good. Let it be my strong protection against all my foes, both seen and unseen, and quell every base impulse, be they physical or spiritual. May it draw me ever closer to You, the one true God, and guide me through death to the joy of everlasting life with You. I also ask that You guide me, a sinner, to the heavenly banquet where You, along with Your Son and the Holy Spirit, are the true and perfect light, complete fulfillment, endless joy, eternal gladness, and perfect happiness enjoyed by Your saints. Grant this through Christ our Lord.Amen.
