A Prayer For Deliverance From An Unprovided Death

O God of our salvation, listen to our plea! Do not decree the end of our days before You grant us forgiveness for our transgressions. Since penance does not find a place in hell, and there is no opportunity for reform, we humbly ask You to give us time to seek Your mercy, and may we also receive absolution for our sins. Through Christ our Lord. Amen. Take away, merciful Lord, all mistakes from Your devoted people, and protect them from the sudden devastation of the ravaging plague; grant that those whom You justly correct may be embraced with Your compassion upon their return. Through Christ our Lord. Amen. Antiphon Do not sin any longer, my soul! Reflect on how swiftly one transitions from sin to eternal suffering. In hell, repentance is futile, and tears bear no benefit. Turn while you still have time; cry out and plead: Have mercy on me, O my God! Antiphon In the midst of life, we face death: whom shall we call upon for aid, if not You, O Lord! Though Your anger is kindled against us by our sins, O Holy Lord, holy and powerful, holy and compassionate Savior! Deliver us from a bitter end. V. - May we not be caught unprepared when the day of our death arrives, seeking time for repentance and finding none. R. - Listen, O Lord! and have mercy on us; for we have sinned against You. We implore You, Almighty God, to receive Your people with fatherly compassion, who turn to You in fear of Your judgment; that those who dread punishment at the hand of Your Majesty in death's unexpected hour may become worthy to rejoice in Your gracious forgiveness. We ask You, Almighty God, to kindly lend an ear to Your Church’s assembly, and let Your mercy prevent Your wrath on our behalf; for if You were to count our sins against us, no being could stand before You.
