A Prayer For Lent

O benevolent Lord, pour into our hearts the pure light of Your Divine Wisdom and grant us understanding in our minds so that we may grasp the teachings of Your Gospel. Fill us with reverence for Your holy commandments, that by restraining our earthly desires, we may live in a way that honors You, both in thought and action. For You, O Christ our God, are the illumination of our souls and bodies; to You we give praise, alongside Your eternal Father and Your Spirit, who gives life, now and always, and forever.
