Lord Jesus, you are the Healer of souls and body, the wellspring of all existence and vitality. We implore you to guide our nation during this crucial time as our leaders pursue reforms in health care. Grant our elected representatives the humility to recognize their role as servants rather than rulers. Bestow upon them the insight to understand that every life is invaluable. Empower them to stand firm against the notion that some lives may be sacrificed for the sake of others, or that the taking of innocent lives is part of health care. Instill in your people the bravery to voice their concerns and to ensure accountability from those in power. Deliver us, Lord Jesus, from a culture that embraces death, and may every change in our policies emerge from a transformation of our hearts and minds, illuminated by your Gospel, for you reign forever and ever.Amen.
