A Prayer For Priests

Almighty God, look upon the countenance of Your eternal High Priest, and show mercy to Your priests in our modern world. Remind us that they are fragile and mortal beings. Awaken in them the grace of their calling. Keep them near to You so that the adversary does not overcome them, enabling them to conduct themselves always in a manner worthy of their exalted vocation. O Jesus, I lift up in prayer Your devoted and zealous priests, as well as those who may be unfaithful or lukewarm; those serving both locally and in far-off mission fields; those facing temptation; those who are isolated and in despair; and those in purgatory. Most importantly, I entrust to You the priests closest to my heart: the one who baptized me; those who granted me absolution; and those who guided me or supported me through their encouragement. I earnestly pray for all the priests I owe gratitude to, especially for... O Jesus, hold them all close to Your heart and shower them with Your blessings, both now and forever. Amen. O Mary, Queen of the clergy, intercede for us; grant us an abundance of holy priests.Amen.
