A Prayer For The Dying And A Special Soul

O most compassionate Lord Jesus, Beloved of souls, I earnestly implore You, through the suffering of Your most Sacred Heart, and through the grief of Your sinless Mother, cleanse with Your Precious Blood the sinners from all corners of the earth who are poised to depart this day. Particularly remember the soul I have spiritually embraced, entrusting him or her to Your care as the Good Shepherd: I ask for the grace to inspire this sinner, in peril of eternal loss, to seek repentance. I make this request in confident reliance on Your boundless mercy. Should it please Your Divine Will to grant me a burden today in exchange for the grace I seek for this soul, I would gladly accept it, and I thank You, O Most Gentle Jesus, Shepherd and Friend of souls; I offer thanks for this chance to extend mercy in grateful remembrance of all the mercies You have graciously given me. Amen. Heart of Jesus, once tormented, have pity on the dying.
