A Prayer In Autumn For Country Living

Gracious and bountiful Lord, Once again, You have led us through the cycle of the year, from planting and nurturing to the joyful gathering of harvest in autumn. We give thanks for the sun and the breeze, the rain and the gentle dew, the rich earth that nourishes, and all the diverse flora and fauna found in our fields and farms. We stand in awe of Your magnificent ways of providing sustenance for humanity through the harvest of the earth. O Lord, guide us to utilize Your abundant gifts as You desire. Inspire us to share our blessings with those who are in want. Help us to recognize, in the beautiful cycles of the seasons and in the maturation of our fields, your merciful and generous hand of Divine providence. Allow us to understand, as well, that adhering to Your commandments and living in accordance with Your grace, we shall gather an abundant harvest in the autumn of our lives: a harvest that we will enjoy eternally, where neither rust nor decay can diminish or spoil even the smallest part.Amen.
