A Prayer In Planting Time

Loving Lord, Your magnificence is evident in all Your works. In wondrous ways, You encapsulate the abundant, vibrant life of plants into minuscule seeds. You shape these seeds into various forms, sizes, and colors, enabling humanity to recognize the kind of growth they will yield. Although they may appear lifeless and dry when set in the soil, with the touch of life-giving rain and the warmth of the sun, they shed their barren exterior and begin to flourish in a remarkable way. By the strength You bestow upon them, they transform the inanimate minerals of the earth into nourishing and delicious sustenance essential for life. This week, dear Lord, we will sow these seeds of (wheat, corn, or whatever it may be) that You have provided. Please bless them, watch over them, and lead them to their full development and bountiful harvest that You wish to grant us. Yet, if You decide not to allow them to reach full maturity, we humbly accept Your will. We trust in Your continued care for us and believe that the seeds of grace You have bestowed will flourish into the abundance of Christian life that You desire for us both now and eternally.Amen.
