A Prayer Of Thanksgiving And Praise For Priests

Lord Jesus, You have selected Your priests from among us and sent them to share Your message and serve in Your name. For the invaluable gift they are to Your Church, we offer You our heartfelt praise and gratitude. We ask that You fill them with the flames of Your love, so their service may manifest Your presence within the Church. As they are fragile vessels, we pray that through their shortcomings, Your strength may shine forth. May they never be crushed in their trials; may they never succumb to despair in moments of doubt; may temptation never lead them to ruin; and may they always feel Your presence in times of persecution. Inspire them through prayer to embody the mystery of Your death and resurrection each day. In their hours of weakness, grant them Your Spirit, enabling them to glorify Your heavenly Father and intercede for those in sin. Through the same Holy Spirit, place Your words upon their lips and instill Your love within their hearts, to announce good news to the impoverished and to mend the hearts of the broken. May the gift of Mary, Your mother, given to the beloved disciple, also be bestowed upon each priest. We ask that she, who nurtured You in her womb, may shape them into Your Divine likeness, through the power of Your Spirit, for the honor of God the Father. Amen.
