A Prayer To The Holy Spirit

Most Sacred Spirit of God, Third Person of the Holy Trinity, there came a day (or there will come) when, through Your boundless mercy, the Most Reverend Bishop summoned me by name, and declared, "I sign you with the sign of the cross, and I confirm you with the chrism of salvation; in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen." That glorious day marked my confirmation. On that sacred occasion, the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, of counsel and fortitude, of knowledge and reverence, and of the healthy, childlike awe of You was invoked upon me. On that holy day, when the blessed oil was drawn as a cross upon my forehead, my soul received the seal of Your Spirit, marked with an everlasting sign. I became, in body and spirit, a sanctuary of Your Holy Spirit. Gracious Lord, let me take this moment to express my gratitude for the magnificent grace of confirmation. May I never act in a way that would tarnish or defile the temple dedicated and consecrated to You. Let me always wear my badge of Christian soldiership with pride. May I serve You faithfully and courageously, regardless of the length of the struggle or the challenges that may arise. Assist me in understanding that as long as I engage in battle with valor and remain close to Christ, I can be assured of ultimate victory, and thus attain my truest joy in the complete communion with God for eternity in heaven.Amen.
