A Teacher's Prayer Before Class

You, O Lord, are my source of strength, my patience, my guiding light, and my wise counsel. It is by Your grace that the students entrusted to my guidance respond positively to me. Do not leave me to my own devices, even for a single moment. For my actions and those of my students, bestow upon me a spirit of wisdom and comprehension, a spirit of knowledge and reverence, a spirit filled with holy awe of You, and a passionate desire to enhance Your glory. I align my efforts with those of Jesus Christ, the Great Teacher, and I implore all the saints in Heaven to support me in carrying out my teaching duties.Amen.
