A Universal Prayer For All Things Necessary To Salvation

O God, I place my trust in You; strengthen my faith. My hopes rest solely in You; please safeguard them. I love You with all my heart; may I learn to deepen that love each day. I regret the times I have wronged You; please increase my remorse. I worship You as my true beginning. I yearn for You as my ultimate goal. I thank You for being my ever-present Benefactor. I turn to You as my supreme Guardian. Grant me, O Lord, to be guided by Your wisdom, to be restrained by Your justice, to be molded by Your mercy, and to be protected by Your might. I wish to dedicate all my thoughts, words, deeds, and sufferings to You; so that henceforth, I may always keep You in my mind, mention You in my speech, aim all my actions toward Your greater glory, and endure willingly whatever You have planned for me. Lord, I desire that in everything, Your will be accomplished; for it is Your will, and in the way that You desire. I ask You to enlighten my mind, to ignite my will, to cleanse my body, and to sanctify my soul. Grant me strength, O God, to atone for my sins, to triumph over temptations, to conquer my passions, and to cultivate the virtues needed for my life. Fill my heart with a loving affection for Your goodness, a hatred for my faults, love for my neighbors, and a disregard for worldly things. May Your grace assist me in being submissive to those in authority over me, kind towards those beneath me, loyal to my friends, and generous to my foes. Help me to conquer indulgence through self-discipline, greed through charitable giving, anger through gentleness, and apathy through fervor. O God, make me wise in my endeavors, brave in facing dangers, patient in suffering, and humble in success. Allow me to remain focused during my prayers, moderate in my meals, diligent in my duties, and steadfast in my commitments. Let my conscience always be pure and clear, my demeanor modest, my conversations uplifting, and my behavior consistent. Help me to strive continually to transcend my nature, to respond to Your grace, to follow Your commandments, and to work toward my salvation. Reveal to me, O my God, the futility of this world, the majesty of heaven, the brevity of life, and the eternity that awaits. Grant that I may prepare for my death, fear Your judgments, escape condemnation, and ultimately attain heaven; through the merits of our Lord Jesus Christ.Amen.
