Act Of Consecration To The Blessed Virgin

O cherished Virgin Mary, our Mother, when the Son of God chose to embrace our human experience so that we may partake in His Divine Nature, He did not intend to approach us without your willing consent. He intentionally chose to rely on you. Look down from heaven today upon the little (name of infant). He (or she) has been granted human life by his parents, and now through the Holy Sacrament of Baptism, he has received a far superior life, the life of God Himself. As God is his Father and ours, you too are, in relation to his spiritual existence, his Mother and our Mother. We entrust this child into your care. Manifest your role as his (or her) Mother. Oversee his (or her) growth; sustain him with the grace of God; help him advance in his Christian journey just as his earthly parents guide him in both physical and spiritual development. Safeguard this precious life that he has just embraced. Be a true Mother to him, shielding him in your embrace whenever the enemy seeks to harm his spiritual journey in your Son Jesus Christ. May he come to love you as Jesus Christ has loved you, for our love for you is merely a sharing in the love that your Son has for you. In the name of this child (name of infant), we wish to present today his (or her) first prayer to his heavenly Mother. Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with Thee, blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
