Act Of Desire

O my soul, the joyful moment has come; Jesus is coming to take His place in my humble heart. Behold the heavenly King, your Redeemer and God, approaching you; prepare yourself to welcome Him with affection. Speak to Him with your deepest yearning: 'Come, Lord Jesus, come to me. I long to receive You; before You gift Yourself to me, I wish to offer You my broken heart; embrace it and take complete control of it. Come, my God, hurry; do not let me wait. I desire to accept You with the love that the most devoted souls, especially the Immaculate Mary, had when they welcomed You. I join this Communion with hers. Most holy Virgin, my Mother Mary, behold, I am ready to receive your Son. I wish to possess your heart and the love with which you shared Him: grant me this morning your Jesus, just as you bestowed Him upon the shepherds and the Magi. I yearn to accept Him from your untainted hands; tell Him that I am your servant, devoted to you; and when He comes to me, may He gaze upon me with greater love and draw closer to my heart.
