Advent Prayer

Come, O Jesus, awaited for so long. Instill in me a wonder at the wisdom and might of You and of our Father. Accept my prayers as my offering of service to the Lord, who calls me to partake in God’s work for justice. Come, O Jesus, awaited for so long. Inspire in me a desire for peace: peace throughout the world, peace in my family, peace within myself. Come, O Jesus, awaited for so long. Awaken in me a joy that reflects the joy of the Father. I seek His will to serve with joy, singing, and love. Come, O Jesus, awaited for so long. Ignite in me the joy, love, and peace that are right to offer at the manger of my Lord. Also, instill in me a deep respect for the God who acted in this place, a heartfelt gratitude for the life that began here, and a strong commitment to serve the Father and the Son. I pray in the name of Jesus Christ, whose coming I celebrate.Amen.
