His compassion and unwavering selflessness in the face of suffering highlighted his deep faith and commitment to serving those in need, even at great personal risk. O St. Francis Xavier, your selfless service during the yellow fever epidemic inspires us all. Help us to be brave in our service, even in the face of difficulty and danger. May we find ways to support those who suffer, as you did so compassionately. May I be courageous in my acts of service, especially when others are in need.
