Consecration Of The Church And The World To The Blessed Virgin Mary
O you, who have been consecrated uniquely to the Holy Spirit more than any other, assist your Son's Church in maintaining this same dedication, so that she may bestow upon all humanity the unfathomable gifts of salvation and sanctification for the deliverance of all creation. You were present with the Church as she began her mission; intercede for her so that, reaching every corner of the earth, she may continuously teach all nations and herald the Gospel to every creature. May the Word of Divine Truth and the Spirit of Love find a place in the hearts of humanity, for without this truth and love, they cannot attain true life. You, who fully experienced the might of the Holy Spirit when you conceived in your virgin womb and gave birth to the Eternal Word, procure for the Church the grace to continually bring forth through water and the Holy Spirit children of the human family, free of distinctions in language, race, or culture, thus granting them the "power to become children of God." You, who are intimately and maternally connected to the Church, leading the People of God along the path of faith, hope, and charity, embrace all those who journey through this life as pilgrims toward eternal destinies, with the love that your Son, the Divine Redeemer, poured into your heart at the Cross. Be the Mother of our earthly lives, even in their most arduous moments, so that we may all ultimately find ourselves within the vast community that your Son referred to as his fold, for which he laid down his life as the Good Shepherd. You, who are the first servant of the unity of Christ’s body, assist us, and all the faithful who painfully feel the divisions within Christianity, to earnestly seek the path to the perfect unity of the Body of Christ through unwavering fidelity to the Spirit of Truth and Love, which your Son offered at the cost of the cross and his death. You, who have always desired to serve! You, who nurture the entire family of God’s children, plead for the Church that, enriched by the Holy Spirit with complete hierarchical and charismatic gifts, she may steadfastly advance toward the future in the spirit of renewal that stems from the Holy Spirit, as expressed in the teachings of Vatican II, embracing all that is true and good, while discerning wisely amidst the signs of the times what promotes the arrival of God’s Kingdom. Mother of individuals and nations, you are aware of their sufferings and hopes. You compassionately feel the struggles between good and evil, light and darkness that shake the world. Accept our plea sent to your heart through the Holy Spirit and enfold the peoples who yearn for your embrace, especially those whose consecration you eagerly await. Take under your maternal care the entire human family, which we dedicate to you, our Mother, with heartfelt devotion. May the era of peace and freedom, truth, justice, and hope draw near for all. O you, who through the mystery of your extraordinary holiness, completely free from all sin from your conception, deeply understand that the "whole creation has been groaning in travail," hoping to be "set free from its bondage to decay." You continually contribute to the revelation of the children of God, for whom "creation waits with eager longing" to enter the freedom of their joy. O Mother of Jesus, now glorified in heaven in body and soul as the archetype and beginning of the Church, which is destined for fulfillment in the future age here on earth until the day of the Lord arrives, do not cease shining before God’s pilgrim people as a beacon of sure hope and comfort. Holy Spirit of God, who is worshipped and glorified with the Father and the Son! Receive these words of humble consecration directed to you in the heart of Mary of Nazareth, your bride and the Redeemer’s mother, whom the Church also honors as her mother since she embraced her own motherly calling from the Upper Room at Pentecost! Accept these words from the pilgrim Church, stated amid labors and joys, fears and hopes, embodying humble and confident trust, words with which the Church, eternally dedicated to you, Spirit of the Father and of the Son, repeats with you to her divine Bridegroom. Come! "The Spirit and the Bride say to the Lord Jesus, 'Come...'. Thus the Church is seen as a people united in the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Thus we declare today: 'Come,' trusting in your motherly intercession, O Clement, O Loving, O sweet Virgin Mary.
