Each New Day

As I embark on this new day, let me take a moment, Lord, to dedicate it to You. Before the rush of daily tasks begins; before the clatter of breakfast interrupts my still drowsy thoughts; in this final instance in my bed, I express my gratitude to You, Lord. Help me to grasp Your promise of renewed life. Guard me against falling back, for I trust that what You forgive is as if it never occurred. Each new day, Your grace offers me the opportunity for a fresh path to walk in Your light once more. May the Lord uphold us throughout the day, until shadows lengthen and evening arrives, when the bustling world quiets, and the tumult of life ceases, and our efforts are completed. Then in His kindness, let Him grant us a secure resting place, a holy repose, and everlasting peace.Amen.
