Epiphany Prayers
Father: Lord: Christ has come to dwell among us. All: Come, let us worship Him. Mother: The precious gifts that the Magi presented to the Lord today are threefold, and symbolize divine mysteries. Gold represents the might of the King, frankincense signifies His splendid priesthood, and myrrh denotes the burial of the Lord. All: The Magi honored the Author of our salvation in the manger, and from their treasures, they offered gifts of a mystical nature. Youngest Child: Glory be to the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. All: As it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever, world without end. Amen. Father: Let us pray. O God, by the guiding light of a star You revealed Your only Son to the Gentiles on this day; grant us, who come to know You through faith, the grace to behold the splendor of Your majesty. Through the same Jesus Christ, Your Son. All: Alleluia. The following hymn may serve as a fitting conclusion. Additional verses may be added by family members. The Wise Men tune Jesu Dulcis Memoria Now there shone a radiant Star That guided the wise Men from afar. They came and, bowing low, adored And presented their gifts to Christ, the Lord.
