Evening Prayer

O Only-Begotten Word of the Father, Jesus Christ, who alone embodies perfection: in accordance with your immense mercy, do not forsake me, your servant, but always dwell within my heart. O gentle Jesus, Good Shepherd of your flock, rescue me from the assaults of the Enemy. Prevent me from falling victim to Satan's malicious designs, despite carrying within me the potential for eternal condemnation. Instead, O Lord Jesus Christ, Adorable God, Holy King, guard me by your Holy Spirit as I rest, the same Spirit who sanctified your Apostles. Illuminate my mind with the light of the Holy Gospel, soothe my soul with the love of your Cross, and cleanse my heart with the purity of your teachings. Safeguard my body through your sacred passion, protect my senses by your humility, and rouse me at the appropriate time for your glorification. For you alone are worthy of adoration, along with your eternal Father and the Holy Spirit, now and forever.
