Evening Prayers

The prayer

In the name of the + Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Dear God, I recognize your presence here with me, aware of all my actions, thoughts, and the innermost desires of my heart. I worship You and love You fully. Thank You for all the blessings I have received, especially those of this day. Illuminate my heart, O God, that I might see the sins I have committed today, and bestow upon me the grace to feel true sorrow for them. Take a moment to reflect on any offenses committed today by your thoughts, words, deeds, or neglect of duty. O my God, who is infinitely good in your essence and so generous to me, I express my sorrow and implore Your forgiveness for all my wrongdoings, detesting them above all else because they deserve your terrible punishments, because they have led to the crucifixion of my loving Savior, Jesus Christ, and, most importantly, because they offend Your boundless goodness. I resolve, with Your grace, never to sin against You again and to carefully steer clear of any occasions to sin. Now, imagine the attitude you wish to possess at the moment of your death. O my God, I embrace death as an act of reverence and worship owed to Your divine majesty, a just consequence for my sins, intertwined with the death of my beloved Redeemer, and as the only path to unite with You, my beginning and end. Into Your hands, O Lord, I entrust my spirit; Lord Jesus, welcome my soul. O holy Mary, be a mother to me. May the blessed Virgin Mary, Saint Joseph, and all the saints intercede for us with our Lord, ensuring our protection through the night from sin and all harm. Amen. O my good Angel, whom God has assigned as my guardian, watch over me throughout this night. All you Angels and Saints of God, pray for me. May our Lord bless us, keep us from all evil, and lead us to everlasting life. Amen. And may the souls of the faithful departed, through God's mercy, find eternal rest in peace.Amen.
