Holy Saturday Prayer To Be Joined With Christ In Death

O Lord, Your grieving Mother stood close to Your Cross; assist us in our trials so that we may partake in Your sufferings. Just as the seed laid in the earth, You have brought forth the fruit of everlasting life for us; enable us to be always dead to sin and alive to God. Shepherd of all, in death You were concealed from the world; teach us to cherish our hidden spiritual life with You and the Father. As the new Adam, You descended to the dead to liberate the righteous from the beginning; may all who are trapped in sin hear Your call and awaken to new life. Son of the living God, You have permitted us through baptism to be buried with You; grant that we may also rise with You in baptism and live in the freshness of life.
