Holy Week Family Evening Prayer

Mother or child: As reiterated by Pope Pius XII regarding the Sacred Liturgy, Beloved ones, during Holy Week, when the profound suffering of Jesus Christ is presented to us through the liturgy, the Church calls us to approach Calvary and to tread in the blood-stained footsteps of the Divine Redeemer, to willingly bear the Cross alongside Him, to embody in our hearts His spirit of sacrifice and reconciliation, and to unite in His death. Father: We should take pride in the Cross of our Lord Jesus Christ Family: in whom we find our salvation, life, and resurrection. Father: Let us pray. Almighty and eternal God, you have chosen to provide humanity with an example of humility; your Son embraced our flesh and willingly faced the Cross. Grant us the grace to faithfully uphold the teachings He imparted through His Passion and to partake in His resurrection. This we implore of You through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son. Family: Amen. Bless this home, Lord, with Your holy presence. Drive away all deceptions of the evil one. Let Your holy angels dwell here, ensuring our peace. And may Your blessing forever rest upon us. This we request in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son. Father: Let us give thanks to the Lord. Family: Thanks be to God.
