My Nurse's Prayer

When I stumble, grant me strength. When fatigue sets in, refresh my spirit. In moments of weakness from my humanity, encourage me to reach further. If the expectations of doctors and patients feel overwhelming, and the hours seem insufficient for my responsibilities, remind me of my calling to serve with kindness and a heart full of faith. In humble service, Lord, I toil for many hours, and though I may feel anxious at times; my purpose is to offer compassion. Stay with me, so that I never lose sight of this.
