In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Love and Sacrifice The love that motivated the North American Martyrs to endure suffering and ultimately lay down their lives reflects the greatest commandment of Christ—to love one another. Their sacrifices were made in the name of an unwavering devotion to God and His people. This selfless love challenges us towards greater acts of compassion and sacrifice in our daily lives. O Holy Martyrs, exemplars of love and sacrifice, intercede for us that we may grow in our capacity to love others as you loved. Teach us to respond selflessly to the needs of our neighbors and to embody your spirit of giving without counting the cost. Amen. O God, who did inflame the hearts of Your sainted martyrs with an admirable zeal for the salvation of souls, grant us, we beseech You what we now implore.
