O Most Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of Christ and the Church, With joy and admiration, we aspire to embrace your Magnificat, joining you in your song of gratitude and love. Together with you, we offer thanks to God "whose mercy extends from generation to generation," for the elevated calling and the diverse missions entrusted to the lay faithful. Each has been called by name to participate in His communion of love and holiness and to unite within the vast family of God's children. He sends them out to radiate Christ's light and to share the Spirit's fire throughout all sectors of society via a life rooted in the Gospel. O Virgin of the Magnificat, imbue their hearts with appreciation and zeal for their vocation and mission. In humility and nobility, you were the "handmaid of the Lord;" bestow upon us your unwavering desire for service to God and for the salvation of humanity. Open our hearts to the eager expectation of the Kingdom of God and the proclamation of the Gospel to all of creation. Your maternal heart is always aware of the numerous threats and evils that seek to overwhelm humankind in our age. At the same time, you notice the many virtuous initiatives, the deep longing for values, and the strides made in yielding the rich harvest of salvation. O Virgin full of boldness, let your spiritual strength and trust in God inspire us, so we may learn to confront all hurdles we face in fulfilling our mission. Teach us to engage with worldly affairs with genuine Christian responsibility and joyful hope for the coming of God's Kingdom, and of a "new heavens and a new earth." You who prayed with the Apostles in the Cenacle, anticipating the Spirit’s arrival at Pentecost, plead for His renewed outpouring on all the faithful, men and women alike, so they may fully embrace their vocation and mission, as branches connected to the true vine, called to bear much fruit for the well-being of the world. O Virgin Mother, guidance and support are what we seek, that we may always live as true sons and daughters of the Church of your Son.
