Offering Of One's Body

Lord, You have blessed me with a body, meant to assist me in carrying out my purpose in this life and beyond. Through baptism, it was sanctified just like my soul. Today, I reaffirm that dedication and offer my body for Your service. Grant me total mastery over my body, so that it may serve as a tool rather than a master. Provide it with strength and stamina. Aid me in turning away from things that harm it: excessive eating, drinking, smoking; misuse of drugs or sexual temptations. Instill in me the resolve to sometimes withhold normal pleasures as acts of sacrifice and as ways to strengthen my character. May regular communion with Your Body in the holy Eucharist keep it healthy and pure.Amen.
