Offering Of One's Senses
Lord, at times I find it challenging to come up with topics for prayer, yet there are countless reasons to express my gratitude to You. There are young individuals who long for what I have, wishing, 'God, I wish I could see!' or 'Lord, I wish I could hear!' Meanwhile, I who can see, hear, and speak with such ease often forget to acknowledge these gifts I take for granted. Today, I give thanks for my eyes that perceive light and color, for the faces of those who care for me. I am grateful for my ability to hear, allowing me to enjoy the soothing sounds of voices and music. I thank You for my voice which lets me share my thoughts and deepest emotions. I also offer my gratitude for the sense of smell and the sense of touch. Lord, You have bestowed upon me these senses, and I now dedicate them back to You. Guide me to utilize my senses wisely, to recognize Your splendor in the beauty of human beings, in flowers, rainbows, nature, and art; to use my sight to explore what enriches my intellect and uplifts my spirit; to listen with my ears to Your Word and the insights of philosophers and scientists regarding the mysteries of humanity, the universe, and creation, that I might gain a deeper understanding of myself, others, and You, the Creator of all that is seen and unseen, known and unknown; to grasp the lessons of the past and present, furthering my insights into everything including You; to employ my voice to declare the truth and spread joy to everyone around me.Amen.
