Gracious Lord, grant me the strength to safeguard those who rely on my service. Bless me with keen hearing, for it connects me to those in need of assistance. Keep my mind sharp and focused, and my hands swift and able. Help me to juggle multiple tasks effortlessly, performing each one with excellence. Bestow upon me the gift of patience, Lord — patience for the public, the officers, my superiors, and all those who test my resolve. Grant me unwavering nerves, that I may remain calm while listening to a frantic mother, a man wielding a weapon, or an officer calling for urgent support. Instill in me compassion, so I may support the victimized and not add to their suffering. Lord, endow me with the ability to learn swiftly, and guide me in applying the knowledge wisely. Please watch over my family, who must endure the demands of my shifts, the overtime, and the times I cannot join them for important events. Help them find understanding in missed games, school events, and dinners that are postponed. Fill me with courage to persist when I feel overlooked, disheartened, or exhausted. Give me the strength to continue trying even when the road seems daunting. Finally, Lord, remind me of the reasons I chose this vocation — let me stay grounded in what truly matters amidst the chaos.
