Prayer After Holy Communion

Dear Lord, Help me to clear my mind of any thoughts or opinions that do not align with Your will, and to cast aside any feelings in my heart that You would not accept. Allow me to dedicate the hours of this day to joyful cooperation with You as per Your design. Be present with me today, guiding me through each moment. In the lengthy hours of labor, grant me strength so I do not falter in serving You. In my interactions, may I avoid moments of uncharitable words. In the complexities and disappointments of the day, teach me to be patient with myself and those around me. In times of weariness and sickness, let my thoughts be of others rather than of my own troubles. In the face of temptation, help me to be both generous and faithful, so that when evening arrives, I can present this day to You—with all its achievements that are Yours, and the shortcomings that belong to me—and experience life as truly real, peaceful, and blessed in Your presence as the Guest of my soul.Amen.
