Prayer Before A Crucifix

Gaze upon me, compassionate and kind Jesus, as I kneel before You in humility. With a fervent spirit, I implore You to instill in my heart profound feelings of faith, hope, and love; a sincere sorrow for my transgressions; and a steadfast resolve to change my ways. As I reflect, filled with profound love and gentle compassion, on Your five sacred wounds, I remember and meditate on the words spoken by David, Your prophet, to You, my Lord: 'They have pierced My hands and My feet, they have numbered all My bones.'Amen.
