Prayer Before A Health Care Meeting "As We Gather"

Creator and Sustainer of all life, we express our gratitude for the splendidness of this day, for the wonders of creation, and for the companionship of one another. We especially thank you for our commitment to the ministry of Catholic health care. We are grateful for the many ways you make your presence known to us as we serve the ill and the afflicted, the marginalized, and those in need. As we convene at this assembly, we invite you to join us as we contemplate this profound vocation and strive to embody it more completely in our lives. Enlighten our eyes, so we may perceive what you desire us to witness. Unclog our ears, so that through our conversations we may discern what you wish us to understand. And soften our hearts, so that we may empathize as you do with those who require our assistance the most. May all our endeavors in this gathering be blessed and recognized as sacred work done in your honor. We ask this in Jesus's name and through the power of the Holy Spirit.Amen.
