Prayer Commemorating The Sacrament Of Confirmation

act
The prayer

[This family prayer serves as a reminder and renewal of the unique gifts and graces bestowed upon us during Confirmation.] Father: I thank You, O Lord, for Your boundless goodness, particularly for the love You have bestowed upon me during my Confirmation. Family: I express my gratitude for sending down Your Holy Spirit into my soul at that moment, showering me with all His gifts and graces. May He take complete control of my life eternally. May His divine anointing make my face radiate with joy. May His heavenly wisdom govern my heart. May His understanding illuminate my darkness. May His guidance steer my path. May His knowledge teach me. May His piety ignite my fervor. May His holy fear protect me from all wrongdoing. Cast away from my soul, O Lord, anything that may tarnish it. Grant me the grace to be Your loyal soldier, so that after having fought the good fight of faith, I may attain the crown of everlasting life, through the merits of Your beloved Son, our Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen. Father: O God, affirm what You have accomplished within us from Your holy temple in Jerusalem. Father: As we stand, let us recite the following prayers: The Apostles' Creed The Lord's Prayer [SOURCE: Cardinal Spellman's Prayer Book (O'Toole, New York), p. 102.]
