Prayer For Attentiveness

Lord, you proclaimed: wherever two or three gather in my name, I am present among them. You are with us now. Help us to recognize your abiding presence. Unite us in your love. We come to be receptive to your Word; we seek your Truth. Speak to us, Lord, for we are your attentive servants. Guide us in listening and responding. In the chaos and distractions of life, it can be challenging to discover your Truth. Assist us in finding tranquility and calm. Grant us attentiveness to You this evening. For you alone possess the words of Eternal Life. Ignite in us a desire for your Word. Lord, our hearts have grown hard through sin and self-centeredness at times. Forgive us for our misguided actions; open our eyes to the depth of your love; bless us with the liberating Truth. Bless us, Lord, and grant us freedom. Let us pray. Heavenly Father, only you can infuse life with meaning and purpose. Let your rich Word penetrate our hearts deeply and transform our lives, enabling us to experience life in its fullness and to live for You and for others. Through Christ our Lord.Amen.
