Prayer For Help Before Confession

O my God, I humbly ask You, in the name of Your Son, our Savior, to bestow upon me the grace to recognize, detest, and atone for my sins and shortcomings in Your service. Allow me to understand and loathe my sins as You do. Enable me to confront and despise them now, just as I will when I appear before You, Lord Jesus, as my Judge, right after my passing.
