Prayer For Religious Vocations

O Lord Jesus Christ, the perfect example of all that is good, You continually inspire all those chosen souls on their noble path toward a life of devotion; You also empower them with the strength of Your example and the grace of Your influence, enabling them to walk in such a worthy vocation; therefore, we ask that many, recognizing Your gentle promptings, may have the desire to respond to such calls by accepting the religious life, thus receiving Your special guidance and loving attention. We also implore You that there may always be benevolent angels of charity, who will serve You day and night at the side of orphans, at the bedsides of the ill, and beside the elderly and afflicted, who perhaps lack anyone on this earth to turn to for compassion and assistance. Grant that humble schools, acting like lofty forums, may always echo Your teachings, leading others towards heaven and the responsibilities unique to their own state in life. May no corner of the earth, even the most isolated, lack the proclamation of the Gospel, which calls all nations to enter into Your Kingdom. Ignite and amplify the flames that will spread across the earth—the fire in which the pure holiness of Your Church can shine forth brilliantly. May there bloom in every location fields of chosen souls who, through contemplation and penance, make amends for humanity's sins and plead for Your mercy upon them. Ensure that the ongoing self-giving of these hearts, the pristine purity of their souls, and their outstanding virtues may continually illuminate the perfect example of the children of God, which You chose to reveal to humanity with Your coming into this world. To these gatherings of Your beloved souls, send forth a great multitude of righteous vocations, righteous souls steadfast in their commitment to be worthy of their sacred calling and to honor the holy order to which they aspire, by adhering to the rules of their religious life, by dedication in prayer, by consistent self-discipline, and by the complete alignment of their will with Yours in all matters. Illuminate, O Lord Jesus, countless generous souls with the divine fire of the Holy Spirit, who is eternal love, and through the powerful intercession of Your most cherished Mother, Mary, kindle and sustain within them the flame of Your love, for the glory of the Father and the same Holy Spirit, who, with You, live and reign forever and ever.Amen.
