Prayer For The Fourth Week Of Lent
This prayer is intended for use within the family before a Crucifix in the fourth week of Lent. Mother or a child: Inspired by the letter of St. Paul [Hebrews 9:13-14]: Beloved, if the blood of goats and calves and the ashes sprinkled by a heifer can purify the flesh as prescribed in the Old Covenant, how much greater will be the Blood of Christ, who through the Holy Spirit offered Himself without blemish to God, cleansed your conscience from dead works to serve the living God! Father: We shall rejoice in the Cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, Family: in whom lies our salvation, life, and resurrection. Father: Let us pray. We desire to serve You, Lord. By Your grace, may our good intentions yield their fruits; for the sacrifices we have made will only be pleasing to Your loving heart through Your guidance. This we implore through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son. Family: Amen. Bless this home, Lord, with Your presence. Keep away all the snares of the evil one. May Your holy angels dwell here, to ensure our peace. And may Your blessing remain with us forever. This we ask through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son. Father: Let us bless the Lord. Family: Thanks be to God. Father: May the all-powerful and merciful Lord, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, bless and safeguard us. Family:Amen.
