Prayer For The Grace Of The Passion

O Lord, for the salvation of humanity, you chose to be born into our world, underwent the rite of circumcision, faced rejection from your people, and were betrayed by Judas with a kiss. You were bound with ropes and led as an innocent lamb to be sacrificed, shamelessly presented to Annas, Caiaphas, Pilate, and Herod. You were falsely accused, tormented by scourging and insults, spat upon, and adorned with a crown of thorns. You suffered blows from hands and reeds, were blindfolded and stripped of your clothing, nailed to the cross and raised high, counted among criminals, offered gall and vinegar to drink, and finally pierced by a lance. Lord, through these most sacred sufferings that we, your unworthy servants, reverently remember, and through your holy Cross and death, free us from the torments of hell, and grant us the grace to be where you placed the repentant thief who shared in your crucifixion. You live and reign with the Father and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever.Amen.
