Prayer For The Pope

O Lord, we stand as millions of faithful, humbly at Your feet, pleading for the preservation, protection, and longevity of the Sovereign Pontiff. He serves as the spiritual father to the vast community of believers, just as he is our father too. Each day, including this one, he prays for us while offering to You, with fervent devotion, the sacred sacrifice of love and peace. Therefore, O Lord, look upon us with compassion, for in this moment, we set aside our own concerns and focus our prayers upon him. Unite our petitions with his and accept them into the embrace of Your boundless mercy, as a fragrant offering of sincere and fruitful love, thereby linking the children of the Church with their father. All that he requests from You today, we humbly ask alongside him. In his moments of joy or sorrow, hope or self-offering for his people, we long to stand in solidarity with him; indeed, we wish for our hearts’ cries to harmonize with his. By Your immense mercy, O Lord, let not any of us be distant from his thoughts and affections as he prays and presents to You the Sacrifice of Your beloved Son. At the instant when our esteemed High Priest, cradling the Body of Jesus Christ, proclaims to the congregation over the Chalice, "The peace of the Lord be with you always," grant, O Lord, that Your gentle peace may descend upon our hearts and upon all nations with renews vigor.Amen.
