Prayer For Those In Active Service

Almighty God, we earnestly ask You, watch over those who face the harsh realities of war and the spiritual threats that come with the life of a soldier, sailor, or airman. Grant them a profound faith that no human opinion can sway them to abandon or hesitate in practicing it. Strengthen them with Your grace to resist the corrupting influence of poor examples, so that, safeguarded from sin and devotedly serving You, they may be prepared to embrace death should it come their way, through Christ our Lord. Sacred Heart! Enkindle within them a deep remorse for sin, and bestow upon them Your forgiveness. Mother of God! Accompany them during combat, and if they must make the ultimate sacrifice, intercede that they may pass away in the grace of Your Divine Son. St. Joseph, please pray for them. May their guardian angels shield them! Amen. O Mary, immaculately conceived, intercede for us who turn to you.
