Prayer In Time Of Bereavement

Beloved Jesus, who shed tears at the loss of Lazarus and assured us that those who sorrow will find solace, we seek the comfort of your presence amidst our grief. Send forth your Holy Spirit to guide us, so we may avoid rash or unwise choices. Bestow upon us strength through your Spirit, that we may not retreat from life out of fear. Let your Spirit grant us tranquility, so that anger, false shame, or regret do not take hold in our hearts. The Lord has given. The Lord has taken away. Blessed be the name of the Lord. Amen. O gentle Mother Mary, who understood the sorrow of losing those you cherished dearly—Jesus, your Son, and Joseph, your faithful companion—intercede for us as we navigate our time of mourning.Amen.
