Prayer Of A Rural Family

O wise and loving God, we bring forth this prayer before You; sheltered from the tumult and shadows beneath this roof, our family bows in worship to You. We express our gratitude for the day that has gone by, for the safety of our bodies and souls, we humbly offer our thanks. For the hills and greenery, for the warmth of the sun and the gusts of wind, for the nourishing rain and the vibrant hues of the sky, and for the branches, flowers, and pure, crisp snow, our hearts are filled with eternal gratitude. For the creatures of the air and land, for the fertile earth and the life-giving seeds that yield abundant harvests; for the countless times we have been nourished by that harvest, we praise and thank You forever. We implore You to protect us, if it is Your desire, from floods and drought, from famine, conflict, and calamities. Bestow upon us tomorrow, just as yesterday and today, all that we require for a just and honorable life; stir within us the sorrow for our transgressions against You. O God of the home and the harvest, Your children here before You, in adoration, seek Your blessing. Grant us restful slumber this night and safeguard us until dawn brings a new day.
