Prayer Of Pope Pius Xii Bend Tenderly Over Our Wounds

devotional
The prayer

Captivated by the brilliance of your heavenly grace, and moved by the worries of this world, we surrender ourselves into your embrace, O Immaculate Mother of Jesus and our Mother, Mary, trusting that in your loving heart we shall find solace for our deep longings and refuge from the storms that surround us. Even though we are weighed down by our shortcomings and burdened by endless sorrow, we behold and commend the unparalleled abundance of divine gifts that God has bestowed upon you, surpassing all creation, from the very moment of your conception to the day you were assumed into heaven and crowned as the Queen of the Universe. O crystal Fountain of Faith, enlighten our minds with eternal truths! O blessed Lily of All Holiness, enchant our hearts with your heavenly fragrance! O Victress over Evil and Death, instill in us a profound aversion to sin, which renders the soul abhorrent to God and bonds it to hell! O dearly cherished of God, hear the passionate pleas that rise from every soul. Gently look upon our suffering wounds. Convert the sinful, dry the tears of the distressed and downtrodden, comfort the lowly and humble, dissolve hatreds, soften hardened hearts, protect the innocence of youth, safeguard the holy Church, and let all people experience the allure of Christian goodness. In your name, echoing harmoniously in heaven, may they come to recognize their brotherhood and acknowledge that all nations form one family, upon which shines the light of universal and genuine peace. Accept, O sweet Mother, our earnest prayers, and above all, grant that one day, in joy with you, we may chant before your throne that anthem sung today around your altars: You are all-beautiful, O Mary! You are our glory, our joy, and the honor of our people!Amen.
